Travel and transport: Caleta de Fuste is only a 10 minute drive from the airport - costing about 10 Euros in a taxi. Car hire is not essential for your holiday, as everything you need is close by and the island has an excellent bus service. If you get the chance though, it is well worth visiting the rest of the island. A 30 minute drive in each direction (or a bus for a couple of Euros) would take you to the sand dunes of Corralejo in the north or the stunning lagoons and golden beaches of Morro Jable (Jandia) in the south.
The beach: Caleta beach is a part-natural, part man-made horseshoe bay with pale sand. The beach gently slopes into the sea and is also protected by breakwaters, making it safe for young children.
The harbour area on the beach has a range of water sports - windsurfing, scuba diving, jet ski-ing or snorkelling. The harbour also has a sea life centre, the opportunity to book boat trips, and numerous beach cafes and bars.
The beach offers parasols and loungers to hire and has volley ball nets.
Local facilities: Caleta has a range of activities, including mini golf, tennis or camel rides on the beach. A 10 minute walk around the bay (or free shuttle bus service from just outside the apartment) will bring you to the Atlantico Centre. The modern and large centre is open every day and offers 10-pin bowling, cinema, snack bars, boutiques, and even a large supermarket (a cheaper way to stock up for the whole holiday). Caleta de Fuste has plenty of cash points, car hire companies and tax-free shops for perfume, alcohol, etc.
This is not to mention the Championship golf course - please see our Golf page for further information.
There is also a local spa - please see the Spa's web page for more information.
Otherwise you can just relax by the pool at the apartments and enjoy the sun.
Nightlife: Caleta de Fuste has a range of bars and restaurants - Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Portugese, Indian and Greek - as well as traditional tapas bars, fresh fish and steak grill bars.
Although quieter than some of the other Canary islands, Fuerteventura has a range of good live music to offer, and is less bustling and more laid back than some of its larger, brasher counterparts in the other Canary Islands.
